I have been searching for natural beeswax with the lovely smell of honey. After reading a handful of reviews, I decided to give this wax a try. The smell is AMAZING- exactly what I was hoping for with the lovely smell of honey. Natural beeswax does take some time to melt but having the smaller pellets helps. I look forward to working with this wax for making candles, lip balms, and other cosmetics.

This is a high quality beeswax without additives. Beeswax has a huge number of uses, everything from candles to cosmetics. I’ve made candles before with soy wax, but haven’t tried beeswax candlemaking yet.
One thing I’d like to try is encaustic painting, which was used thousands of years ago and many such paintings survive today. It’s made by adding pigment and a special hardener to the wax, then painted onto wood panels, and a hot air gun makes it adhere to the panel. I’m still waiting on my hot air gun, but I have everything else and it will be great fun to use this historical painting method.
Beeswax is also used in cosmetics and lip balms, soaps, and furniture polish, as well as beard products. This has a convenient resealable package and is a good size to get started.
The photo shows how I have melted them into empty tealight tins, I will eventually add pigments and carnauba wax to these to make encaustic paint!

I use beeswax for making my own polishing wax for wood turning, and for making my own wax and linseed oil based wood finish. For that, you really want a pure beeswax free of impurities that will contaminate the finish, and this is obviously pure beeswax. The color is pale white, and when melted it’s almost clear. An excellent, pure, product.

I love the scent and white color. I use this fir face cream. The trouble I had was some of them did not melt all the way, even after 2 hours on double boiler. I had to filter those ones out using cheese cloth. Next time I plan to buy smaller bees wax beads if I can find them.

Packed in a plastic-lined Kraft paper bag with a zip closure, the one pound of organic beeswax has been made into tiny pastilles that make using it so easy.
I had been buying large bars of beeswax that had to be chopped into smaller pieces before I could begin to melt it. That chopping was quite an effort, and sometimes a bit dangerous when the knife slipped. In contrast, this bag of beeswax was ready to use as soon as I opened the package. What a time (and finger) saver!
The beeswax is organic yellow, cosmetic and food grade. It has that wonderful beeswax aroma that I love.
Today I melted a bit of the beeswax and poured it into small molds to make beeswax thread conditioners (see my photos). When hand sewing, gently pulling the thread through the edge of a beeswax shape before threading the needle makes it easier to sew with less thread tangling and snarling. As an added benefit, my sewing box has a faint beeswax scent that I enjoy every time I open it.
I also like to make lotion bars and lip balm with beeswax. Maybe this time I’ll try to make my own furniture polish? This big one-pound bag will be so much fun to use!

I got a 1lb package of yellow beeswax pellets. There was a small tear in the edge of the bag, so a few of the pellets had dropped out, but I don’t think there was any major loss. I wanted organic, food-grade beeswax to make my wood oil for cutting boards. Though I’m still not certain that “organic” here means the bees were primarily exposed to organically grown plants (and they do claim “no pesticides”), but this seems like a good bet. I’m pleased with the product.

As a budding herbalist on a tight budget the price point and organic marketing is what drew me to this brand. I’m still learning how to use beeswax so I’m not going to say the product isn’t worth trying as the smell is light and pleasant yet not overpowering-which is what I would expect one would want when making salves, candles and soaps. I was making salves and the beeswax took quite a long time to melt and also set – which to be fair very likely was due to my inexperience. I I’ll update this review after I make something else with any additional info
